Student Feedback
At the end of my placement I had students fill out a survey with questions to get some student feedback on my teaching. The questions included:
1. What was your favorite assignment and why? Which activities that went with the different assignments did you enjoy?
"I liked the architecture assignment the best, it was fun to go and look into the details of buildings"
"I liked the independent darkroom activities."
2. Were the instructions and expectations for the assignments clearly addressed on a scale of 1 -10. (1= not clear, 10= very clear)
"8-10"
3. What kind of feedback was helpful for questions you had and for assignments?
"having it shown to me and walking me through it was helpful."
"giving good examples and helpful ways to make my pictures better."
"I liked when I showed you my test strip you'd ask me what I thought first and focused on what I did well rather then what was wrong."
4. What were some things I did well while teaching?
"You were really patient and calm while teaching us. You always speak clearly and have a nice smile everyday."
"enthusiastic, clear with instructions, friendly and easy to communicate with"
"Very good at explaining and being very clear. Helped me a ton and improved my experience."
5. What are some things I could improve while teaching in my future?
"Be more strict"
"Use a louder voice"
6. Additional comments?
"I really enjoyed you as a teacher. It was great learning while you were teaching"
"I will miss you soooo much Ms. Smoot! You were the best!
"Thanks for teaching something difficult to explain in simple step-by step instructions."
