1. Culture and Community Context: Truscott Elementary School is in Loveland, Colorado. The Loveland area is located on the Front Range of the Rockies at about 5,000 feet. There is a feeling of community between the teachers at Truscott. Teachers are able to discuss certain students, management issues and successes to improve the learning environment. There is a large population of Hispanic families that attend this school so many school newsletters and information is posted in both English and Spanish.

The art classroom at Truscott has 7 tables each with 2-4 students, depending on class size. There are cabinets full of art supplies and student artwork organized by grade and class. There is long table in the front of the room that has all the common everyday materials such as pencils, erasers, are sharpies. There is a sink in the back of the room that is used to clean materials and wash hands when necessary.
